Setting goals in the New Year

As we get started with 2024 over these next few weeks, it’s important to set goals so you can become the best version of yourself this year.


Although “becoming the best versions of ourselves” can seem somewhat daunting, it is a lot less intimidating when we take it one goal at a time. Having staggered and measurable goals that line up with our desires for the future is one of the best approaches to the new year.

‘SMART’ is a common acronym many people use to help themselves set their goals.
Specific – Make your goal specific and narrow for more effective planning
Measurable – Make sure your goals are measurable
Achievable – Make sure you can reasonably accomplish your goal within a certain time frame
Relevant – Your goal should align with your values and long-term objectives
Time-Based – Set a realistic but ambitious end date

It’s also really important to check in with your goals regularly and not be afraid to reevaluate so your goal is more achievable with your current life situation.

Some other things to keep in mind when goal setting is to first know where you are, know where you want to be, know what actions it will take to get there, remain 100% honest with yourself, and always perceiver.
